Jewellery care & materials

Despite the fact that Zerlah jewellery is curated of high quality materials, they are only costume jewellery which means not properly caring for them will diminish their durability and shine, shortening the lifespan of their plating.

At Zerlah, we want our customers to not only look luxurious, but also feel luxurious without worrying about our pieces irritating them, which is why our jewellery is also extremely safe for sensitive skin! Our materials are all nickel free and hypoallergenic, limiting any chances of an allergic reaction, rash or blisters.

GOLD VERMEIL:

Our 14k gold vermeil is a thick layer of gold which is electroplated onto 925 sterling silver. Gold vermeil consists of 2.5 microns of real gold thick which means that it’s more resistant to tarnishing than normal our gold plating which is 1.27 microns.

GOLD PLATED:

Our 18k gold plated jewellery is 1.27 microns thick which is thicker than the average of 0.5 microns. The 18k gold plating is electroplated onto pure, solid 925 sterling silver, ensuring a longer lasting lifespan. Gold plating is more delicate

RHODIUM PLATED:

Our rhodium plated pieces are electroplated onto a 925 sterling silver base. This makes for strong and sturdy jewellery, more-likely to resist corrosion and tarnishing.

925 STERLING SILVER:

Our pieces are hallmarked with the ‘925' stamp, indicating that they're made of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper. This sterling silver blend is highly durable, ensuring lasting quality.

To get the most usage out of your Zerlah pieces, we advise you to adhere to these easy recommendations.

- Remove your Zerlah pieces before bathing or swimming.

- Avoid contact with chemicals that are corrosive to jewellery such as perfume and lotion.

- Regularly clean your jewellery with a soft cloth.

- Store each piece in the Zerlah pouch you received it in.

- Avoid mishandle of the jewellery as it can cause scratches or breakage.

Please keep in mind that since gold plating is thinner and composed of a softer metal than silver, it's more delicate and prone to tarnishing than silver.

*Please understand that to maintain our quality standards, we only accept replacements/refunds for tarnished jewellery within 45 days of purchase*
